Farewell Hard Rock

In December 2016, Aroha Latin Dance began promoting Latin Night and teaching Latin Dance lessons at Hard Rock Cafe. When I first brought my organization to Hard Rock it was after months of effort to make contact and collaborate. I knew that when the door finally opened the time was right and just as the time was right then, the time is right now for me to make an exit. I can't put my finger on anything particularly concrete but my intuition is telling me that it is time for me to move on.

I loved every minute of my time with the people who came out to dance there. I met so many people and got to have some fun dances. I saw a man propose, I saw a couple celebrate their 65th and 66th wedding anniversaries, lots of birthdays were celebrated and we featured some stellar performances from visiting instructors.

For me, dance is about building community, welcoming new people, perfecting the art of partner dance and getting to express joy through movement. This is what I will be focusing on over the next few months and I invite anyone who wants to do the same to collaborate with me.

I tried to make this video short but after nearly twp years of events and hundreds of pictures, there was no way to do that. I wish each of you the very best and I will see you on the dance floor! Peace and Love-Adalia
